Roof Cleaning

For roof cleaning we use the soft-wash method utilising special products from BENZ. Soft washing is the process of using eco-friendly chemicals and low pressure water to clean roofs, walls and driveways.

A soft-wash of a roof starts with scraping all the moss off the roof using lightweight telescopic poles and scrapers profiled to fit all tile shapes.

This is followed by an application of BENZ Bio Cleanze removing any algae, lichen or moss that may have been missed.

For a rapid clean at GU Gutters we would first treat with BENZ Lightening Cleanze, which, once applied breaks down dirt ,moss and lichen enabling it to be washed off and rinsed away.

BENZ Bio Cleanze will then be applied to protect the roof from further colonisation and to keep it looking clean.

The process is environmentally friendly and designed to work with natural weathering continuing to clean the roof for several months after treatment.

The process of soft washing reduces and generally eliminates the need for power washing.

This is essential, as power washing can potentially be very damaging to the protective surface layer of the material being cleaned, such as roof tiles.

A further advantage of the soft-wash system over jet washing is the soft-wash kills the spores that jet washing can leave behind, meaning recolonisation will take much longer.
